Wat maakt Amerika? Weeg ik al 150kg of is de vetaanleg van de Amerikanen genetisch? Zijn het allemaal latente Bush-lovers? Zal de wereld uiteindelijk geconsumeerd worden door dit chauvinstische volkje of kunnen ze hun eigen positie nog enigzins relativeren? Hoe is een normale Amerikaan (of wat is normaal hier)? Betrekt die ook bij elke discussie God? Is het suburbia van Amerika daadwerkelijk het summum van woongenot of van geestdodenheid? Heeft Rosa Parks (de negeroide vrouw die haar plek in de bus niet voor een blanke wilde opgeven, 1955) met haar onbedoelde revolutie nog zoden aan de dijk weten te zetten? Of is elk van haar lotgenoten net zo kansloos in een sollicitatiegesprek als een gemiddelde Marokkaan in Nederland? Is Detroit vies? Is de hamburger hier lekkerder? Moet wel! Zijn de Niagara watervallen nat? Niets van uw visie over de USA zal ik aan het toeval overlaten, wordt deelgenoot van mijn frustraties en geneugden en herschrijf uw mening over Amerika.
